The theme of the meeting was jigs and work ideas.
We saw a range of ideas
or jigs from John Harris on how he carves his rocking horses, his tools,
the jigs and the method of assembling the initial blanks for carving. Peter
Herbert, Ian Pye, John Powell, Garnet Anderson and Bill Shean then showed a
number of turning related jigs.
The annual John Page Memorial Award was presented to Max Donato at the
meeting. This award is made to the member who makes the best efforts to
extend their skills by 'having a go' at any new ideas presented during the
year by our demonstrators.
Show and Tell was well represented with a wide range of work from a number
of members.
